We Serve Each Other

LUTHERAN CITY MINISTRIES
We would like to continue to help our friends in Detroit by joining with Faith-Trinity United Church of Christ in Warren to provide food once a month for this ministry run by Pastor Hill and Sue Hatcher. To simplify things we will serve the same menu each month; we have been asked to donate the pasta and dessert. We are asking our members to donate one or more 5 lb container of frozen mostaccioli or a 6 lb (12 x 16) pan of brownies from Gordon Food Service located at 1370 Walton Blvd. (across the street from Rochester High School.) We will need 4 servings of pasta and 1 of brownies each month. This makes it easy and no one needs to cook. Please use the sign up sheet in the narthex, make your purchase, bring your item to church, put it the freezer downstairs and check off your name on the list. We will keep the containers frozen until we need them, so sign up and make your purchases as soon as possible. If you can go down to serve a meal the second Sunday of the month, please sign up.

LUTHERAN CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICE
The "Cookie Jar" is placed in the narthex on the 2nd Sunday of every month to receive contributions to help support families and children in need. Thank you for helping us make a difference! To learn more about L.C.F.S., visit their website at www.lcfsmi.org.

ROCHESTER AREA NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE is a non-profit, non-governmental agency which aids people with various needs. Those who are qualified may receive rent, utilities, counseling and other emergency assistance. It is housed in St. Andrews Church, 1400 Inglewood. For more information or to volunteer call 248-651-5836; or visit their website at www.ranh.org.

THE FOOD PANTRY is housed and maintained at First Congregational Church, 1315 North Pine Street. Economic conditions have created ever greater demands for emergency food supplies. Donations may be left in the kitchen in the bin marked "Pantry Shelf." Cash to cover the costs of purchasing food is always accepted. For more information, please call 248-651-6225.

CLOTHES CLOSET 4 Mill Street, Rochester (Under the Bridge) will receive your donated clothing items, especially for children and infants. Hours are Monday – Wednesday, 9am till 4 PM and the fourth Saturday of the month 9AM - 1PM. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED; call 248-656-0230.
